FDR led this country though the most difficult years of it's existence. He took over during the depths of the depression and gave the people hope, and jobs and he made the US the "arsenal of democracy" and kept both the UK and the USSR afloat from 1939 to 1941 when the US entered the war. He is absolutely in our top three presidents of all times.

When FDR took office in 1932 the U.S. was mired in the worst depression in history. By 1938 the economy was expanding and the unemployment rate had decreased to 15% from a high of over 25%. By 1940 the economy was still expanding and unemployment was down to 11%. In 1941 the U.S entered into WW II via the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese Empire on 12/7/41. Shortly afterward the U.S was on a war time economy with full employment. Roosevelt died before the end of WW II. An entire generation of people owe him a great deal. He guided this country through the Great Depression, from the brink of defeat in a world war into heading toward a victory and a great post-war economic boom.

Because of the New Deal, which basically started social welfare in the US, he's probably the most beloved prez ever. Most surveys rank him #3 overall, after Washington and Lincoln, which makes him the top prez of the 20th century.

Because he was the leader during WW2 and played games with millions of peoples lives in Yalta with his friend Joseph "Uncle Joe" Stalin. Sure he did something to help people out of the Great Depression but other wise then that was a lying sneaky snake.

I hate him alot because here is what he said about the Winter War when Stalin attacked Finland on 1939:

FDR said that Stalin did wrong. Still no help did FDR give Finland during the Winter War? I wonder why?

"probably the most beloved prez ever"

Joseph Stalin sure did love good old FDR.
